OOC Rules;; 001. Avalon's golden rule! There is one rule that tops all others and that is respect the staff, respect each other, respect any guests, and respect the freedom everyone has to create their own character and enjoyable experience on Avalon.
002. In any chat out of character, including Cbox chat, please keep the swearing down to a minimum. Also, NO SPAMMING! Those pointless little messages people leave is considered spam. In the cbox, anything that is disturbing because it's sick and wrong is considered spam. You will get a temporary ban from the cbox if you spam there. And on the ooc boards, try to post full sentences if you want to reply. Short posts like "hi" or just leaving a smiley face or anything short like that is spam and will not be tolerated. You are on a literate forum here and we know you can at least make a good sentence even out of character.
003. Okay, so, advertising. If you are a guest, please do not advertise on the cbox by just posting a link. You can go on there and link your name and chat with us, but popping in, posting once in the cbox with your name linked, and then leaving is rude and you will have a permanent ban from our cbox. Members, please don't post links to other forums you want people to join in the cbox or on the boards, except the Advertising/Affiliation board. You can talk about it in the cbox, but, if someone is interested, PM them the link.
004. Another BIG rule we have here is to STAY ACTIVE. Seriously. When people aren't active, then they can't reply to someone else, who gets bored of waiting and decides they will go do other stuff and eventually end up ALSO being less active, which then affects another person, and another, and so on and so forth. So, to eliminate that 'domino effect', we challenge you to be as active as you can be. Trust me, it's worth it.
005. If you favor not having me sic a pack of chihuahuas on you, please do not use any images that stretch the page. This includes any images you wish to put up on the boards or in your signature. If you do need to resize it, it's simple to just copy the image, paste it on whatever image editing software you have [Ex: Paint], right click on the image and click resize and make it below stretching size, then upload it to tinypic.com and go on from there. Signatures have to be no more than 500 X 250 and regular images you post have to have no more than a 600 width, but any height.
The "Time Travel Clause";;
To prevent time paradoxes and to keep things balanced, all of these clauses are in effect when somebody time travels. You may choose how aware your character is of these clauses.
Arceus' Rule
The future can change, but the past cannot even if you time travel to it (and thus make the past the future from your perspective). Any drastic changes will be "fixed" when the time traveler leaves the era, such as a forest the time traveler burned down being miraculously replenished with no one any the wiser. This also means that while the second apocalypse can be averted, the first one cannot. Small events that do not have any changes on the flow of time will not be fixed.
Palkia's Rule
You can only time travel in a space outside of the mainland of Avalon, but within the Avalon Islands area. Additionally, where you enter a portal determines where you will come out in the time period; you will appear in that exact same spot, just in a different time period. If that spot happens to be ocean at the time, then you will appear on the closest landmass.
Dialga's Rule
You can only time travel to Prehistory, the Ice Age, the Middle Ages, the Modern-day and the Ruined Future. Time portals will not send you anywhere else.
Celebi's Rule
Any attempts on the lives of a time traveler's ancestors or descendants, however distant, will fail. The time traveler will be whisked away to another era if he or she tries to kill one of their ancestors or descendants.
Mew's Rule
If a Pokémon is released outside of its home era, it will be whisked away to its home time period.
Giratina's Rule
If a time traveler is critically injured or near death outside of their home time period, he or she will be whisked away to their home period with their injuries recovered enough that they are no longer on the brink of death.
Deoxys' Rule
There is an automatic language translator for time travelers. For example, a modern-day person visiting prehistory would hear the people speaking his or her own first language, and the prehistoric people would hear him or her speaking their native tongue. This does not break down the language barrier between people who are from the same era.
