Time Periods and Important Dates
While it is possible to travel to any time period, ill-prepared trainers are not advised to do so, as some time periods have incredibly vicious Pokémon that can easily tear apart weaker ones.
The acronyms "B.A." and "P.A." stand for "Before Apocalypse" and "Post Apocalypse" respectively, referring to the first apocalypse that ended the Ice Age over two thousand years ago.
12,300 B.A.: Prehistory -
A time when almost everything was a thick, dense jungle or expansive plains, Pokémon long since extinct in the modern day can be found running about here in large numbers. Aerodactyl take to the skies, Rampardos crash through jungles, and Omastar dot the beaches. While humans exist here and do interact with Pokémon, their relationship is usually a fierce rivalry and competition for food or is a mutual agreement, usually temporary, to work together. As such, the prehistoric humans can communicate with any Pokémon as if talking to another person.

500 B.A.: The Ice Age -
Perhaps a product of Suicine or Regice's powers, the world is now covered in ice and snow. Entire oceans have nearly frozen over, and there's no mistaking the harshness of this eternal winter. Arctic Pokémon thrive here, whereas Pokémon ill-suited to the frigid climate have banded with humans for survival, essentially mutually agreeing to fight off intruders as long as the humans take care of them. Due to being so in-tune with Pokémon, natives to the Ice Age era are able to tame a weakened Pokémon without the usage of any modern-day equipment.

Year 0: The First Apocalypse -
About two thousand and ten years ago, a group of desperate humans during attempted to harness the power of Arceus to end the Ice Age. The end result was the then-dormant Arceus, furious at being controlled, raining judgment upon the world. The end result was what the humans had wanted; after all, Arceus' wrath had broken the ice and made it begin to melt, but the fragments of the human race were not so grateful. Arceus had nearly wiped out everything, and it was sheer luck that they managed to survive the destruction.
1200 P.A.: The Middle Ages -
An often idealized time period in modern-day literature, this medieval period saw Avalon covered in castles and kingdoms, only one of which has survived to see the present day. Kings and queens ruled the land, employing knights and governors to do their work in the provinces of their kingdoms. Most notably, magic was discovered in this time by magicians trying to find a way for mankind to use Pokémon powers. The end result was not a total replacement for the usage of Pokémon, but rather a method of enhancing one's Pokémon in a fight. Being the only time period that was able to use magic, only people from the middle ages can utilize the variety of powers that can be found in little shops all over in their home period.

1785 P.A.: The Industrial Revolution -
As Avalon grew more modern, important inventions such as the Poké Ball came into being. Factories cover the sky in major cities; trains pass through the land to connect once-distant towns. Though this roaring era of prosperity may seem peaceful on the surface, there is plenty of danger lurking behind every corner. Gangs roam the streets, seizing control of factories and paying off the law enforcement to not interfere. Sludge-loving Pokémon start to make city life even inherently hazardous as creatures like Koffing and Grimer pollute the air. Still, the industrious people of this era are hard workers that get things done quickly and efficiently, which manifests itself in their innate ability to hasten the development of a Pokémon inside its egg.
People from this era have the ability to hatch eggs twice as fast. Level Range: 15+
2010 P.A.: The Present Day -
Modern-day Avalon is a fairly warm, almost tropical region consisting of a mainland and numerous islands. The mainland, usually what people refer to as Avalon, is located on the equator. As such, only its northern islands have mountains with snow. Trainers come from all over the world to visit the splendor and try a Pokémon journey in the warm weather, but recently, there seem to have been people coming from all over time to Avalon. Being native to the region and sensitive to the disturbances in time, the denizens of the modern era have the unique ability to track a portal to a particular time period.
People from this era have the ability to pinpoint certain time portals and have an increased likelihood of finding the one they're looking for. Level Range: 5+
2031 P.A.: The Second Apocalypse -
The famous "apocalypse hoax" detailed by Dr. Andromar was, in fact, a video of this very moment coming to pass. Erupting out of the depths of a volcano, Arceus once again destroyed the world with a vengeful attack. This time, though, there was nothing to be gained from this overwhelming destruction and carnage. There was no Ice Age to be ended; it was simply the end of the world. However, the legendary Pokémon anticipated this, and the three "Legendary Golems", Regice, Registeel and Regirock, protected mankind from being wiped out by using their own bodies as shields from the wrath of Arceus.
2250 P.A.: The Ruined Future -
When children are asked to think of what their future will be like, they most definitely would not have thought of this. Even hundreds of years after Arceus rained destruction upon the world, the region of Avalon still has not managed to recover. Descendants of the modern-day Pokémorphs have mutated and become two distinct races called vampires and weremorphs, fighting each other due to the first vampire and weremorph were a Seviper and Zangoose respectively; it is quite literally in their blood to abhor each other. Humans wisely stay out of the conflict, but many times the vampires and weres will attack groups of humans in hopes of increasing their numbers through bites, which have the power to turn the victim into a vampire or a weremorph. Food is scarce, the land is desolate, and the ruins of once-mighty cities dot the landscape. Due to living in such a dangerous place and by calling on the powers the three golems granted them, people hailing from the ruined future are able to find faster ways through even the most unlikely of places.
People from this era have the ability to take certain shortcuts through areas. Level Range: 30+
