Two years ago, a famous scientist known as Dr. Andromar vanished from public view. Nobody could find her, no matter how hard they looked. Search parties went to Lualdi— her original destination — and scoured the entire island in an attempt to find the scientist. It seemed like every rock was unturned in all of Avalon in an attempt to find her, but to no avail; Dr. Andromar had simply vanished.
Several days after the search parties had given up, Dr. Andromar appeared once again, wandering around the coasts of Lualdi in a daze. She was instantly whisked away to Metrialon City, and after several weeks of recovery, had a remarkable story to tell. She had been researching the wasteland on Lualdi, trying to investigate if it truly had been a lush area at one point, but then a giant shadow overtook her. Dr. Andromar swore that it was the Legendary Pokémon, Dialga, based on the shape of the shadow, but before she could not affirm her guess due to the owner of the shadow being behind her. The creature, whatever it was, let out a shrill cry. Before she knew it or could so much as glance behind, Dr. Andromar was suddenly in a new world. It was unmistakably Lualdi based on the landmarks around her, but it was dark and somehow seemed different. Though it had been noon when she had begun her research in Lualdi, the sky was dark and just barely red, implying that the sun had just gone down.
Like any self-respecting scientist, Dr. Andromar took out the video camera she'd brought with her and started video taping the surroundings. If she could get this back home, then perhaps someone would be able to make sense of it.
That was when, not too far off in the distance, she saw Mt. Alvarus, a volcano that hadn't erupted for centuries, suddenly explode into flames. She was out of range of the lava and debris falling everywhere, but a feeling of dread settled in the pit of her stomach. Her camera zoomed in, and what she was even more terrifying than the volcano erupting after being named inactive. Out of the flames, she saw a Pokémon rising into the air, its glowing red-and-green eyes staring right back at her, as if it was fully aware of her presence. The creature let out a harsh roar, rattling the earth with its cries. It was a large, white creature resembling a horse that had a black underside and a golden cross-like wheel on its back. It goes without saying that Dr. Andromar saw Arceus, the "Original One" who had created the universe. Fear struck her deep inside her heart; was this the same benevolent god that some residents of Avalon revered?
Fire rained from the sky, the earth cracked open, and Dr. Andromar was sure she was witnessing the end of the world. Nothing could stand in the way of Arceus' wrath. Before she could be injured, however, she heard the cry of what she assumed was Dialga, and she was back in the wasteland she had begun in, still in a panicked daze and hardly able to comprehend what she'd just witnessed. Because it'd been Dialga (or so she believed) Dr. Andromar was certain that the Pokémon had temporarily sent her to the future to see what would happen and help avert the apocalypse. Her heart slowed, and she took deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself. It turned out to be useless, though; a voice suddenly echoed around the wasteland and set her on edge once more.
"Twenty-two years..." rumbled the voice. "Twenty-two years is all we have."
Why, that was in her lifetime! She hadn't just seen a distant tragic future unfolding. That apocalypse could be her future, too! There wasn't anyone else who could do this. She had to get this video to the government and work to prevent the chaos from erupting.
Unfortunately for Dr. Andromar, after successfully getting an audience with the governor of Avalon, she presented her video and proposed the "Apocalypse Aversion Act" conveniently on April 1st, and the majority of Avalon residents assumed it to be an elaborate joke, as did the government. Dr. Andromar was laughed out of the office, and she disappeared once again. There were rumors of seeing her wandering around towns, laying low, but no one could confirm them.
Though it's been a year since Dr. Andromar's story came and left the Lualdi news networks that had moved onto more recent stories, tales from trainers who'd gone to North Lualdi and "disappeared" as Dr. Andromar did have made some reporters skeptical of their previous claims that Dr. Andromar was lying. These trainers claimed, once they were found again, to have wandered into strange "portals" and appeared in a different world that resembled Avalon, but was remarkably different. One group of trainers said they had been transported to a jungle where they'd been attacked by several Rampardos, and a lone trainer claimed to have seen something like the ice age. Yet another group said they'd been dropped in a medieval era with knights and castles, and some trainers direly claimed to have seen the end of the world much like Dr. Andromar had.
Even more strangely, people have been popping up without an explanation as to how they got there. There was quite the clamor about a man who claimed to have come from a ruined future — a future that matched up precisely with Dr. Andromar's video, but lesser known oddities include a little girl who appeared riding on the back of an Aerodactyl over the skies of Tritonis Port and a group of teenagers seemingly from the middle ages.
A common theory to explain these strange happenings is that Dr. Andromar's apocalyptic prediction was true, and that since she'd been unable to change the future, the Legendary Pokémon are taking it into their hands to find someone who can and are wildly searching for this one person.
But who can change the future?
